SUMMARY:Marugoto Summer Sampler
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, the Japan Foundation\, Toronto (JFT) has a new mini-course for anyone who wants to take Japanese for a test-run: Marugoto Summer Sampler! This course places its focus on speaking\, and over three weeks in July/August students will gain the knowledge and skills to start talking about themselves and their world in Japanese. \nAnd not only will students learn to speak in Japanese\, they will also put it to use outside of the classroom with a trip to a local Japanese restaurant! \nRegistration for this class is now full. We thank everyone for their interest.\nCourse Content & Schedule:\nThis course runs Tuesday and Thursday nights for three weeks in July/August\, and includes 5 classes and 1 night out! In each class\, not only will we look at the Japanese language\, but also showcase Japanese culture and various Japanese resources available at the JFT and in the city at large! \n・　July 26: Orientation / Greetings in Japanese / Toronto’s Japanese Community\n・　July 28: Talking about yourself / JFT Gallery Tour\n・　August 2: Talking about your hobbies & interests / Japanese Business Culture\n・　August 4: Talking about food / JFT Library Tour\n・　August 9: Ordering at a restaurant / Japanese Food Culture\n・　August 11: Dinner at a local Japanese restaurant* \n* The cost of dinner is not included in the course fees. Students will be expected to order and pay for their own meals.\nThe $100 fee covers the 5 in-class lessons and all associated handouts/class materials. \nA new learning approach: Marugoto\nThis course will cover content from Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture (Starter A1 Katsudoo Coursebook for communicative language activities) – a textbook designed by the Japan Foundation specifically for adult learners. Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture invites learners to learn not only Japanese\, but also Japanese culture alongside the language. \nAnd if you find you enjoy learning with Marugoto\, why not join us in the fall for Japanese Together? \n  \n* Please note that this course is only for adult learners.
