Dr. Ken Coates receives Japan Foreign Minister’s Commendation

The Japan Foundation, Toronto would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Doctor Ken Coates, recent recipient of the Japan Foreign Minister’s Commendation for his work supporting Japanese Studies in Canada. Currently Canada Research Chair in Regional Innovation at the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Coates served as President of the Japan Studies Association of Canada (JSAC) from 2007-2013. JSAC is an organization founded with the purpose of promoting not only Japanese Studies in Canada but also contributing to the strength of Canada-Japan relations.

Dr. Coates received his commendation on March 12th, 2015 in a ceremony hosted by Consul General RyosakuTamura in Calgary. All the staff at the Japan Foundation congratulate Dr. Coates on his accomplishment and wish him well on his future work. We look forward to many more opportunities to collaborate in the future.
