Online Marugoto Courses: Intermediate 1 (B1-1)

Our Intermediate 1 course will cover the first half of the B1 level of the JF Standard. During this course students will work towards the following goals:

  • Can understand the main points on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
  • Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
  • Can produce simple connected text on topics, which are familiar, or of personal interest.
  • Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

For all terms, our Intermediate 1 (JF Standard B1-1) course runs Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm (Eastern Time).
The course covers 6 Topics from the textbook Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture Intermediate 1 B1, with each Topic being covered over 6 weeks.

Intermediate 1 (B1-1) Course Fees

Students can choose the Topic(s) they want to learn and register for just those, or register per Term.

Payment per Term (Fall, Winter, Spring): Each term costs $360.
Payment per Topic: Students can opt to to register per topic of study and pay $180 per topic. (If you would like to register by topic, please only check your topic of choice in the registration form.)

Early-Bird Discount: Register and pay by March 28 and Term 3 will only cost $330/your Topic of choice will only cost $165!

Payment is accepted only per Term or per Topic.

The content covered in each term will be selected from the textbook to fit the specific needs/interests of the students, so the order of chapters covered may not necessarily match the order within the textbook.

Textbooks are not included in the fees and students are expected to buy their own copies.
