Online Marugoto Courses: Elementary (A2-1)

Our Elementary course is for people who have some experience studying Japanese, and will cover the first half of the A2 level of the JF Standard. During this course students will work towards the following goals:

  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal preference, shopping, point of interest in local area, community involvement, etc.)
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and mattes in areas of immediate need.

The Can-do Check and Nihongo Check from the JF Standard used in the Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture textbooks allow the learners to continually measure their progress and keep a record of what they are able to do in Japanese. This approach to learning helps to assess ability and set up clear goals, which further leads to effective learning.
