Our Starter (introductory) course is for people who have little to no experience studying Japanese, and will cover the A1 level of the JF Standard. During this course students will work towards the following goals:
- Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
- Can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have.
- Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

For all terms, our Starter (JF Standard A1) course runs Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm (Eastern Time).

Each term (Fall, Winter, Spring) costs $390. Payment is accepted only on a Term by Term basis.
Early-Bird Discount: Register and pay by August 31, 2023 and Term 1 will only cost $360!

Our Starter (A1) course uses both of the following textbooks:

Each of the above terms (Fall, Winter, Spring) will cover one third of the textbooks, and by completing all three terms you will finish the textbooks.
※ Textbooks are not included in the fees and students are expected to buy their own copies.
