To our esteemed partners and patrons,
The Japan Foundation Toronto will relocate to a new office by the end of 2026. As part of a broader review of the structure and functions of The Japan Foundation’s global offices, we will conclude the operations of our public facilities including the public lending library, gallery, and event spaces in conjunction with its office relocation. While the operations of our facilities will change considerably, we will continue to carry out programs and initiatives throughout Canada including collaboration, grants, and online programming as well as host occasional events at the new location’s meeting spaces. To learn more about this transition, please read the Message from our Director and visit the Q&A page.
- Saturday, August 22, 2026: Last Day of Public Lending at Physical Library *The JF Digital Library remains available 24/7.
- Friday, October 9, 2026: Final Day of Public Access to the Physical Library & Gallery
- December 2026: Relocation *Details will be announced in early December 2026.
*Please note that the information above is subject to further updates.
Prior to the move, we plan to host a series of events at our current centre to express our appreciation to all those who have supported us, reflect on our history together, and share our vision for the future as we embark on this new chapter. Please visit our special event page, Journey onto JFT’s Next Chapter for details.
