Make a wish for the New Year with Japanese Calligraphy (書道, “shodō”)!

Create your own calligraphy-inspired bookmark and welcome the New Year with a meaningful word or wish! After the success of our March casual calligraphy event, we’re excited to bring back a special hands-on experience to casually try Japanese Calligraphy using fude pens (brush pens)—with extended library hours until 6:00 pm. While no professional calligraphy instructor will be present, our library staff will be on hand throughout the day to offer basic guidance and help create custom samples upon request.

No RSVP required—a drop-in, first-come, first-served activity for anyone wanting to get creative and craft a bookmark to carry wishes into the New Year! Drop by the JFT Library anytime on Tuesday, December 16 between 11:30 am—6:00 pm!

*Participation age: Adults and Children (around 6 years old and up) are welcome to participate.
