Hina Matsuri Doll Festival at the Library

Let’s celebrate Hina Matsuri – Girls’ Day and the Doll Festival – together in the Japan Foundation Toronto Library!

• Refreshments – Japanese tea, rice crackers and hina arare snacks from 1:00 pm onwards

• Kimono demonstration – Dressing by the Toronto Kimono Club at 2:00 pm

• Kamishibai – Japanese tales narrated with illustration, in English and Japanese, 3:00 & 3:15 pm

• Meet Paro – a high-tech Japanese baby seal robot, 3:30-5:00 pm

• Play with traditional Japanese toys like kendama, otedama, daruma otoshi, mangekyou and biidama, all day

Plus Ohinasama and Tsurushibina – traditional Japanese dolls in beautiful costumes and hanging hina ornaments – on display in the library from February 26 through March 26!
