トロント及びトロント近郊ではさまざまな年齢とレベルの学習者を対象に日本語教育が行われていますが、実際に教えている教師たちはほかの教育機関で行われていること、時には同じプログラム内であっても、自分以外の先生がしていることをあまりよく知らないのが現状だと思います。今、自分の目の前にいる学習者がどのような環境で何を学んできたのかを知り、そして今後彼らが日本語学習を継続するにあたりどのような選択肢があるのかを知ることは、教師にとって大変意味のあることだと考えます。また、教師間のネットワークを活性化させることにより、さまざまなレベルでの意見交換が頻繁に行われることにもなるでしょう。カナダ日本語教育振興会（CAJLE）と国際交流基金トロント日本文化センターでは、2009年12月より、日本語教育機関やプログラム間の“アーティキュレーション（連携、継続性）”のための素地を築くことを目指した集まりを企画してまいりました。

第29回目となる今回は、第28回で公開授業（3月19日・28日）を行なった国際交流基金トロント日本文化センター日本語講座のビデオでの授業見学を行います。

今回の勉強会では、授業見学を通じ、それぞれ参加者ご自身の課題について振り返ることと、ご自身の授業に活かせると思った点や課題について、参加者間で共有することを目標とします。

授業を担当講師からの背景等の説明の後、ビデオでの授業見学、参加者同士でのディスカッションを予定しております。

Japanese is taught at several secondary schools in Toronto and its surrounding areas. Yet, it appears that teachers do not know much about the other institutions, courses or programmes. This lack of understanding can sometimes be found even within the same institution. We believe that it is very important and necessary for teachers to know what their current students have previously studied and in what type of environment that education took place. Similarly, it is important to be informed of the available learning opportunities for students who wish to continue studying Japanese.  We believe it is essential for teachers to build a strong and active network that enables them to communicate with one another. Since December 2009, the Canadian Association for Japanese Language Education (CAJLE) and the Japan Foundation, Toronto have been co-organizing events to build a good foundation for the articulation of Japanese language education.

In the 29th event of the series, we will view videos taken during classes held on March 19th and 28th at the Japan Foundation, Toronto (cf. “Continuing Learning Japanese 28”). Through this recorded class observation, we hope that participating teachers have the chance to reflect on their own teaching and to share things they would like to implement in class and potential challenges that could arise.

After a background explanation of the classes, we will watch the videos and then have a discussion amongst participants.
