Step 1: Start with an easy level
Step 2: Don’t use a dictionary
Step 3: Skip any parts you don’t understand
Step 4: Boring? Read a different book!

These are the principles behind the “Tadoku” Japanese Graded Reader series, and these are the keys to improving your reading abilities in Japanese. In this class with the help of our instructor you will improve your reading skills with extensive reading and exposure to a wide range of Japanese texts.

This class consists of 5 sessions ranging in level from Early Beginner to Intermediate. Each session is divided into two parts: students spend the first half of the class readings books of their choosing from our library (largely those from the Tadoku reading series), and in the second half they come together for a group reading session lead by the instructor.
