A huge part of life in Japan is the natsu matsuri (summer festival). Every year people put on their yukata (summer kimono) and gather together to eat, dance, and watch the hanabi (fireworks).
Join us at the Japan Foundation, Toronto for our class all about Japanese summer festivals and the various events and activities (and dances!) that they involve. You’ll also learn a bit of seasonal Japanese to help you on your way!
This class is now full. We thank you for your interest.
On the same day, feel free to put your new knowledge to the test at the Natsu Matsuri & Obon Festival at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (6 Garamond Court, Toronto), which runs from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
※ Please note that going to the JCCC Natsu Matsuri is not part of our class.
