https://goo.gl/6VE8P1

The Japan Foundation, Toronto (JFT)
Workshop for Japanese Language Teachers

The Japan Foundation, Toronto (JFT) will hold a workshop which aims to provide a place for teachers to learn together about teaching the Japanese language. As detailed below, this workshop will be a session on teaching Japanese based on the Action Oriented Approach conducted by Yoshifumi Murakami, Japanese-language Education Advisor for Alberta Education, dispatched by the Japan Foundation. Those working in the field of Japanese language education as well as those with an interest in Japanese language education are welcome to attend.

For registration (required), please see below.

Registration: mandatory

Theme: Teaching Japanese Based on the Action Oriented Approach

The “Action Oriented Approach” is a method of creating lessons from the perspective of thinking on what kind of language is necessary for a certain action, as opposed to a structural syllabus which uses the language itself as the starting point. In this workshop, participants will list familiar actions, make them into a curriculum, and finally think about how it could be taught. If you have time to watch the following videos before the workshop, they will aid in your understanding. (The videos are not a requirement of participation.)   https://goo.gl/6VE8P1
