Looking for a space to practice the language outside of class? JFT Virtual Study Space is now open to all learners of Japanese in Canada.

Check out lots of language-learning resources here.

At the Japan Foundation, Toronto, we offer various Japanese language courses based on the Japan Foundation Standard for Japanese Language Education (or “JF Standard” – for more information, please click here). Through studying in our language courses, you will learn to complete various “Can-do” in Japanese!

Features of our Japanese Classes:

  • Interactive and student-focused. Students take an active role and there are lots of listening and speaking activities during class.
  • Immersive. The teacher speaks mostly in Japanese, especially as you go up the levels.
  • Improving speaking through shadowing. Classes involve “shadowing” practice, a technique where students repeat Japanese audio right after they hear it.
