Online Teacher-Supported Self-Study Courses: Elementary (A2-1)

Our Elementary course is for people who have little to no experience studying Japanese, and will cover the first half of the A2 level of the JF Standard. During this course students will work towards the following goals:

  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal preference, shopping, point of interest in local area, community involvement, etc.)
  • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and mattes in areas of immediate need.

There are a variety of FREE websites and apps students can choose from to prepare for the in-person lessons!

We strongly recommend students in our Teacher-Supported Self-Study Courses register for an account with JF Japanese e-Learning Minato, as their comprehensive courses provide everything you need to succeed! Elementary (A2-1) will be based on the following courses on Minato:

Class Size: The class size of our Teacher-Support Elementary (A2-1) course is limited to 20 students.

Elementary (A2-1) Course Fees: Each term (Fall, Winter, Spring) costs $90. (Completing the entire course from September to July will cost $270.)
*Payment is accepted only on a Term by Term basis.

Once a student has registered in the course and their registration has been confirmed they will be sent a Square invoice (please refer to the registration process). A student’s position in the course is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
