Online Teachers’ Workshops

Professional development programs for Japanese-language teachers in Canada.

• JFT Workshop: International Baccalaureate (IB) Japanese B Course Practice and Assessment　国際バカロレア（IB）日本語Bコースの実践と評価
  This workshop will include a brief introduction to the IB Japanese B course, examples of classroom activities, and hands-on practice in grading IB final exams.
• NEW! JFT Workshop for Japanese Language Teachers: 課題遂行型言語教育の課題と可能性 ～理想・現実・その接点～
  This workshop will focus on the gap between these “ideals and reality” and share the challenges that participants are facing. We will then exchange ideas for small improvements that can be implemented, and together we will consider ways to incorporate task-based learning in a feasible way.

  If you are a Japanese Language teacher and would like to brush up on your Japanese this summer, please join this free online language brush up course.

Networking opportunities for Japanese-language teachers in Canada

  Regular meetings where teachers can share and discuss with their peers. All topics are welcome, including if you have any ideas you would like to try out, anything you feel a little stuck on, etc.

JFT Japanese-Language Course Observation

• Observe our MARUGOTO Japanese-Language Courses　まるごと日本語講座見学
  Here at the Japan Foundation, Toronto our Japanese language courses are open to observation to offer teachers and students in Canada a chance to learn about and learn through the Japan Foundation’s Marugoto textbook series as well as the JF Standard for Japanese Language Education.

JFT Language Teaching Materials & Resources

• JFT Online Marugoto Japanese Language Course: Collection of Teaching Plans   JFT オンラインまるごと日本語講座：教案集
  Teaching plans used in JFT’s language courses using the Marugoto textbooks. Please feel free to download and use them as reference materials when you use “Marugoto“.
• Marugoto Teaching Material Project: Collection of Support Materials　まるごと教材プロジェクト：おたすけ資料集
  The Marugoto Teaching Material Project aims to create a collection of materials to be used as a reference by teachers in order to make it easier for the Marugoto textbooks to be used in Japanese-language education in Canada.

The Japan Foundation Head Office Programs

There are also several programs for teachers offered by the Japan Foundation Head Office in Japan.
