Show Tanabata at the JFT Library on July 6th, 2019
The 7th day of the 7th month is the traditional day to celebrate Tanabata, known as the star festival in Japan. Visitors to the library enjoyed trying on summer yukata, writing wishes on tanzoku, fishing for origami, making kirigami milky way and origami goldfish, winning prizes at the kendama tournament, trying on masks, and taking pictures in front of a backdrop of Fushimi-inari shrine in Kyoto. The bamboo tree with wishes, books, models and masks on display throughout the month of July.
