Natsume Soseki Essay Competition

In honour of the 100th anniversary of the death of author Natsume Soseki, The Japan Foundation has teamed up with the Asahi Shimbun, Ferris University and Iwanami Shoten to sponsor The Soseki International Essay Contest. Essays in Japanese of 2,000 characters or less on the theme “Soseki and I” will be accepted from non-native speakers of Japanese. The deadline for entry is August 10, 2016. Up to 8 prizes will be awarded, with the top 3 being invited to a Soseki symposium to be held in Tokyo in December 2016.
