This year is Vancouver International Film Festival‘s 40th anniversary! Their landmark festival runs from Friday, October 1st to Monday, October 11th. Even though our friends at VIFF are celebrating over in BC, folks from across Canada will be able to watch their programming through their online streaming platform.
The Japan Foundation, Toronto is proud to support VIFF’s milestone year with our Film Showing Abroad Grant Program.
There are 3 new Japanese films available for streaming on VIFF Connect, as well as a special in-conversation event with the living legend KORE-EDA Hirokazu and emerging South Korean filmmaker, Bora Kim. This talk will is free and will also be available on VIFF Connect until the end of the festival. KORE-EDA’s 2013 gem, Like Father, Like Son, is also available to stream as a retro screening. All films are in Japanese with English subtitles.
