We were saddened to learn of the death of the great manga artist Yoshihiro Tatsumi last weekend. JFT had the fortune to host an event with Mr. Tatsumi in 2009, when he was a guest at the TCAF – The Toronto Comic Arts Festival. Mr. Tatsumi spoke about his life and work, and signed copies of his autobiographical manga, “A Drifting Life”, taking care to draw a detailed picture in each fan’s book. His contribution to the art of manga is immeasurable.
