Netsuke, currently introduced in the Contemporary Wood Carved Netsuke exhibition at The Japan Foundation, Toronto, have a prior connection with Toronto through the collection at the Royal Ontario Museum. The ROM collection of Netsuke is considered to be of the highest calibre and is recognized at an international level. The ROM collection is not limited in material; it includes not only wood-carving but also pieces made of ivory. This hidden gem collection radiates with beauty, craftsmanship, and whimsical charms of Edo spirit.
