THE JAPAN FOUNDATION, TORONTO
ONLINE NIHONGO SALON
The Japan Foundation, Toronto is hosting a Nihongo Salon with the aim of providing a place where advanced Japanese learners (including Japanese language teachers) in Canada who would like to maintain Japanese language proficiency can speak Japanese regularly. We hope that these gatherings can be an opportunity for participants to regularly speak Japanese and to network with each other.
The 17th Online Nihongo Salon
Topic: Let’s try “Word Wolf”
“Word Wolf” is a “werewolf”-type game from Japan. A word is given to each player by an online system. The same word is given for each player except one, and a similar word is given for that one player (e.g., “taxi”, “taxi”, “taxi”, “bus”, etc.). Each player checks their word without revealing it to the other players. The player that has the different word is the Word Wolf (but is not sure whether they are the Word Wolf). Each player gives a short comment about their word. No lying! If someone guesses who the Word Wolf is, they win. If the Word Wolf is not revealed, the Word Wolf wins.
Date and time: Wednesday, February 9, 2022 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Eastern Time)
Expected Participants:
- Japanese language teachers in Canada who would like to maintain Japanese language proficiency, and who did not complete their compulsory education (elementary and junior high school, 9 years) in Japan
- Learners who have graduated from Level 5 of the JFT Online MARUGOTO Japanese Language Course and currently reside in Canada
Language: Japanese
