Panel and Luncheon
Join us for an exciting and unique opportunity to meet Professor Taniguchi, and his team of panelists! Engage with the Special Adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Cabinet in a stimulating dialogue on regional and global Japan-related issues as well as issues on Japanese society. This project is by the Prime Minister’s Office of Japan, and is open to everyone.
The goal of “Walk in Canada, Talk on Japan” is to increase awareness about Japan in Canada on a variety of issues and to further develop the Japan-Canada relationship through people-to-people diplomacy. Prior to Canada, several groups of Japanese citizens with various backgrounds have been travelling to the U.S. under the “Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan” program, and shared their perspectives and encouraged open discussions with the local communities. Following a visit to Vancouver last year, this year the program will visit Toronto, in the hopes of developing the Japan-Canada relationship further.
This team will be led by the Professor Tomohiko Taniguchi professor at Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management (SDM), and Special Adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Cabinet. The team will also include three other members, each with a background in business, aesthetics and tourism – all ready to discuss issues on the Japan’s political climate, Japanese Sake Culture, and immigration policy.
There will be a Q & A session at the end of the event. Your questions and views are most welcome.
The members and speech topics are available here.
Location: McMillan LLP (Brookfield Place, Suite 4400, 181 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5J 2T3)
Light buffet lunch and drinks will be served.
