To kick off our Halloween celebrations, join us for a fun and quirky workshop with Emmy Award winner KOYAMA Goro as he demonstrates the amusing and often strange process of “foley” — the art of creating sound effects for film, television, and video games.
The workshop is 90 minutes long followed by a Q&A session. A segment of the workshop involves audience participation.

Artist Biography – KOYAMA Goro:
Born 1973 in Saitama, Japan, KOYAMA Goro loved Hollywood movies as a young boy. In 1991, he moved to Canada to study English and learned that there was an active and flourishing film industry there. Upon visiting a sound studio in Toronto, Goro discovered his passion in the art of sound in filmmaking. Goro has been a foley artist since 1994 and has since garnered over 300 credits in films, television, and video games.
His credits include: Barbie (2023), Little Mermaid (2022), White Noise (2021), Don’t Look Up (2021), Dune (2021), Mary Poppins Returns (2018), Blade Runner 2047 (2017), and Cloverfield (2008), just to name a few. You can see Goro’s full list of credits on IMDB.
