Revenge is served cold (with a menacing appetizer of wedding cake, the highlight of a stunning opening scene) in this masterpiece from Akira Kurosawa. Although star Toshiro Mifune is best known for his roles in Kurosawa’s historical dramas, such as The Seven Samurai and Rashomon, he equally powerful playing a businessman bent on avenging the death of the father he never knew by marrying daughter of the man responsible and infiltrating his company.
